Clayton Burt, 20, was arrested early Friday after an officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling 60 mph in a posted 40 mph speed zone, said New Canaan Lt. Jason Ferraro.
While speaking with Burt during the stop, the officer detected signs of impairment and a field sobriety test was administered which he failed, Ferraro said.
Burt was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. Once there he refused to take a blood-alcohol test.
He was released after posting $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
